Line Haul Driver

Job Summary

We are looking for a professional and detail-oriented Line Haul Driver to transport freight between terminals, distribution centers, or major hubs. This role typically involves nighttime or early morning driving with minimal stops and no-touch freight. The ideal candidate is efficient, safety-focused, and comfortable operating under tight delivery windows. Responsibilities

• Transport freight between company terminals, drop yards, or partner locations on fixed or rotating routes.
• Hook and unhook trailers at designated hubs using proper coupling techniques.
• Inspect truck and trailer before and after each trip, reporting mechanical issues promptly.
• Adhere to all federal, state, and local transportation laws, including hours-of-service regulations.
• Ensure paperwork, trip logs, and digital documentation are completed accurately and on time.
• Maintain steady communication with dispatch and terminal operations teams.
• Operate safely and efficiently, especially during night hours or inclement weather conditions.

Qualifications and Experience

• Valid CDL with prior experience in regional or terminal-to-terminal driving.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and trailer coupling/uncoupling procedures.
• Ability to follow assigned routes and operate on overnight or split shifts.
• Excellent focus, time management, and night driving skills.
• Clean driving record and commitment to safety standards.
• Familiarity with ELD systems and terminal check-in protocols preferred.

Salary

Pay varies based on route type, driver experience, and employment structure (company driver). Drivers can expect competitive per-mile rates, hourly wages, or percentage-based pay. Additional incentives may be offered for safe driving, fuel efficiency, and on-time delivery.
