Responsibilities:

• Give top priority to promoting road safety for all individuals operating large trucks on the roads.
• Carry out detailed pre- and post-journey vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness is maintained.
• Strategically map out delivery schedules to enhance efficiency and adhere to designated delivery times.
• Maintain safety and security during transportation by adhering to industry standards for handling and packaging shipments.
• Establish effective lines of communication with dispatchers and clients during the delivery operation.
• Ensure meticulous records are kept regarding hours worked and the maintenance of vehicles.
• Compliance with safety protocols and DOT mandates is essential for safeguarding both staff members and transported merchandise.
• Notify the authorities of any vehicle malfunctions, collisions, or violations without delay to stay in line with regulations.

Qualifications:

• Maintain a legitimate Class A Commercial Driver's License.
• Clean driving record.
• Successful conclusion of a DOT physical assessment and drug test.
• Proficient in managing time allocation and coordinating activities efficiently.
• Skilled in safely lifting and transporting heavy objects with ease.
• Proficient in customer relations, skilled at developing strong connections with customers.
• Quickly inform the appropriate personnel about any vehicle malfunctions or offenses to maintain safety standards and regulatory compliance.

Preferred Experience:

• Dry van trailers, also referred to as enclosed trailers, provide protection from the elements for goods being transported across long distances. Flatbed trailers are versatile for carrying heavy or unusually shaped loads that cannot be accommodated by traditional box trailers. Tanker trailers are specifically designed to safely transport liquids or gases, with features such as reinforced tanks and sealed compartments
• Doubles/Triples, Intermodal, Auto Hauler refer to various systems used in the transportation industry to move cargo efficiently
• Specialized products are considered to be goods that cater to specific needs or requirements
