CDL Regional Driver - Reefer

Job Summary

We are hiring a dependable and experienced CDL Regional Driver - Reefer to transport temperature-sensitive freight within a multi-state region. This position involves operating refrigerated trailers to deliver perishable goods such as food, pharmaceuticals, and other climate-controlled cargo. The role offers a predictable schedule, regional miles, and consistent freight—making it ideal for drivers who want extended routes with regular home time.

Responsibilities

• Transport refrigerated freight using assigned reefer trailers within a designated region.
• Monitor and maintain trailer temperatures according to load specifications.
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any issues promptly.
• Manage route planning, delivery timing, and load documentation accurately.
• Adhere to federal and state driving regulations, including HOS compliance.
• Communicate regularly with dispatch for load updates, delivery status, and routing support.
• Ensure secure, damage-free transport of all cargo while maintaining reefer unit performance.

Qualifications and Experience

• Valid CDL and prior experience hauling refrigerated trailers preferred.
• Strong understanding of reefer equipment operation, maintenance, and cargo handling.
• Knowledge of DOT guidelines, ELD systems, and regional route compliance.
• Reliable driving record with a focus on safety and on-time delivery.
• Comfortable working variable shifts, including nights or weekends when needed.
• Ability to handle extended hours on the road while maintaining attention to detail.

Salary

Pay varies based on route type, driver experience, and employment structure (company driver). Drivers can expect competitive per-mile rates, hourly wages, or percentage-based pay. Additional incentives may be offered for safe driving, fuel efficiency, and on-time delivery.
