CDL - Class A - Grocery Driver

Position Summary

This position is responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of grocery products to company-operated stores. The Experienced Class A Driver will cover all routes as needed, including local and overnight runs, special deliveries, pickups, and other transportation-related duties. The driver must apply knowledge of commercial driving regulations and maneuver tractor-trailers (Day Cab and Sleeper) safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Cover all routes, including local and overnight runs; perform pickups and special deliveries as needed
• Assist on off-days and support store openings
• Deliver product using proper techniques and Food Safety guidelines
• Maintain driver logs per DOT regulations
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and submit DOT reports
• Ensure product security and minimize transport damage
• Unload trailers and document deliveries, including temperature and exceptions
• Troubleshoot delivery issues with store staff and provide excellent customer service

Requirements

• Age: Must be 21 years or older
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience: Minimum 6 months driving Class A vehicles (5 years preferred)
• Licenses: Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• Driving Record: Must have satisfactory DOT Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse record
• Soft Skills: Ability to follow written instructions, communicate clearly, and perform basic math
• Physical: Must lift up to 100 lbs and frequently handle 50 lbs; use 2-wheel dolly and ramp
• Travel: May require overnight stays based on route scheduling
• Driving History: No more than two moving violations in the past three years

Working Relationships

Experienced Class A Driver will maintain professional relationships with Store Team Members and Driver Helpers (if applicable).
