Regional Driver

Job Summary

We are looking for a dedicated and professional Regional Driver to operate freight routes across a multi-state area. This role offers a balance between steady mileage and regular home time—making it ideal for drivers who want extended routes without the demands of coast-to-coast travel. As a Regional Driver, you will transport a variety of freight types while following safety standards, time-sensitive schedules, and company delivery expectations.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight between terminals, customer locations, and distribution centers within your assigned region.
• Plan routes efficiently, accounting for delivery schedules, weather conditions, and legal driving hours.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on the tractor and trailer units.
• Maintain accurate logs, delivery receipts, and ELD documentation.
• Adhere to all DOT regulations and company safety procedures.
• Provide excellent communication with dispatch and maintain professionalism at all delivery points.
• Handle freight with care, using appropriate securing equipment as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

• Valid CDL and a minimum of one year of recent experience in regional or over-the-road driving.
• Solid knowledge of transportation regulations, weight limits, and HOS rules.
• Ability to operate safely in a variety of road and weather conditions.
• Strong time management and route planning skills.
• Clean MVR and the ability to pass drug testing and background screening.
• Experience with ELD systems and digital dispatch tools preferred.

Salary

Pay varies based on route type, driver experience, and employment structure (company driver). Drivers can expect competitive per-mile rates, hourly wages, or percentage-based pay. Additional incentives may be offered for safe driving, fuel efficiency, and on-time delivery.
