Qualifications of Long Haul Truck Driver:
- A CDL Class A is mandatory
- Applicants must have or be able to acquire a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card
- Applicants must possess 1 year of evidenced tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years, or 2 years of substantiated tractor-trailer experience in the past 5 years according to the requirements
- A record from the Department of Motor Vehicles or Motor Vehicle Report covering three years, showing a limit of two moving violations or accidents
- Abide by the legal requirements and standards mandated at the federal and state levels, in addition to rules and guidelines provided by relevant agencies
- One of the primary functions of this role is to attend work regularly and predictably
- Comply with the stated work hours, perform tasks at the predetermined work site, fill out the employment application for Penske, agree to a review of past employment, education, and criminal background as part of the background investigation, and participate in a drug screening as part of the hiring procedure
- This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated as safety-sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required. Associates must have the ability to accept responsibility for their own safety, as well as the safety of others

- The associate must be able to see and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the associate will be required to move frequently, stand, walk, and sit. The associate is frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms. The associate must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs/23kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs/45kg.
- The requirement is for the associate to be capable of legally driving a vehicle and to safely and routinely enter and exit the vehicle as well as its rear cargo compartment.
