Shuttle Operator

Job Summary

We are hiring a punctual and detail-oriented Shuttle Operator to move trailers and freight between nearby facilities, terminals, and yard locations. This position is crucial for maintaining the flow of goods between staging areas and supports both warehouse and long-haul operations. The Shuttle Operator plays a key role in logistics coordination while staying local and returning home daily.

Responsibilities

• Transport loaded and empty trailers between terminals, warehouses, or customer sites within close proximity.
• Assist in trailer spotting, repositioning, and switching tasks throughout the day.
• Maintain communication with logistics teams and yard managers regarding trailer movements.
• Perform safety checks and routine inspections on vehicles and trailers.
• Complete all required documentation for trailer tracking and dispatch logs.
• Follow yard safety protocols and operate equipment in confined spaces safely.

Qualifications and Experience

• Valid CDL and experience in shuttle or yard movement operations.
• Strong understanding of trailer types, fifth-wheel coupling, and backing maneuvers.
• Reliable communication and time management skills.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights or weekends.
• Experience with radio dispatch systems preferred.

Salary

Pay varies based on route type, driver experience, and employment structure (company driver). Drivers can expect competitive per-mile rates, hourly wages, or percentage-based pay. Additional incentives may be offered for safe driving, fuel efficiency, and on-time delivery.
