Box Truck Driver

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Box Truck Driver to handle time-sensitive deliveries across short to mid-range routes. This role involves operating CDL box trucks to transport goods to residential, commercial, and retail customers. Ideal candidates are punctual, detail-oriented, and committed to providing excellent customer service while maintaining safety standards on every trip.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a box truck for scheduled deliveries and pickups within assigned territories.
• Load and unload cargo using hand trucks, pallet jacks, or liftgates as required.
• Inspect vehicles daily to ensure roadworthiness and report issues immediately.
• Ensure all shipments are delivered accurately and obtain proper delivery confirmation.
• Follow assigned delivery routes while complying with local traffic laws and delivery schedules.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to ensure efficient route completion.
• Handle freight with care to avoid product damage or inventory loss.

Qualifications and Experience

• Valid CDL and a clean driving history with no recent violations.
• Previous box truck or straight truck driving experience preferred.
• Ability to handle physically demanding work environments.
• Familiarity with handheld delivery devices or mobile routing apps is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to follow directions precisely.
• Good interpersonal skills and a customer-friendly attitude.

Salary

Pay varies based on route type, driver experience, and employment structure (company driver). Drivers can expect competitive per-mile rates, hourly wages, or percentage-based pay. Additional incentives may be offered for safe driving, fuel efficiency, and on-time delivery.
